One of the world's largest stainless steel suppliers, Tisco (Taiyuan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd.), selected ABP Induction Systems GmbH, a pioneer in induction technology, to implement high performance induction furnaces in their existing steel plant in Taiyuan, China. Phase 2 of the project has been successfully implemented and all 6 furnace systems are installed and commissioned by now. The induction furnace systems represent the highest powered induction furnaces (42 MW) manufactured with medium frequency converter technology operating in the world today.
Tisco (Taiyuan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd.), one of the world's largest stainless steel suppliers, selected ABP Induction Systems GmbH, a pioneer in induction technology, to implement high performance induction furnaces in their existing steel plant in Taiyuan, China.

After the successful installation of phases 1 – Two 30 t furnaces with a common power supply of 24,4 MW for melting of FeCr and FeNi (installed and commissioned in June 2013), the furnace system has been operating reliably for more than a year in a 3 shift operation.

In December 2014 Phase 2 of the project – Installation of Six (6) 65 t furnaces with three (3) separate and independent 42 MW power supplies for melting of FeCr and FeNi has been successfully implemented. All 6 furnaces systems are installed and commissioned. The performance of the furnaces (melt rate, energy consumption, refractory life) fulfills all customer expectations and guaranteed data. Additional to the effect of a much better yield, the increased efficiency of the melting system gives TISCO additional cost saving effects within their stainless steel production.

The induction furnace systems, delivered by ABP Induction to TISCO, represents the highest powered induction furnaces (42 MW) manufactured with medium frequency converter technology operating in the world today – an epic achievement in induction furnace technology.
