ABP Induction presents the EcoLine as a new entry into the furnace world. It opens the foundry market for small companies, research institutes or engineering offices that want to set up their own production. ABP is thus addressing international customers whose focus is on an economic balance between investment, reliability and production capacity.

“These are markets that have a broad base of small, often family-run operations that need solutions for small-scale production with different types of metals,” explains Patrick Lück, Sales Support Engineer at ABP and responsible for the development of the new ABP EcoLine together with Byron McCall, General Manager at ABP in South Africa.

Compact design

ABP also addresses other target groups that want an easy-to-use furnace system with comparatively small production capacity.

“These may be research and development facilities looking for small equipment to produce experimental alloys, or training facilities to train new foundry employees in the fundamentals of metallurgy and furnace operation,” explains Byron McCall.

The ABP EcoLine is thus also of interest to start-ups and engineering companies that want to increase their independence.  “With the development of ABP EcoLine, we are responding to the wishes of customers from these target groups: quickly available and easy to commission, cost-effective to operate and purchase.”

Other features

The oven is the missing element in ABP’s product portfolio. There will be sizes that ABP EcoLine and the well-known FS series have in common. However, requirements and complexity of the systems are different.

“ABP EcoLine is based on the proven and well-known FS series, but is implemented in a simplified way for non-specific, cross-industry use. The straightforward design indicates what the ABP EcoLine is for: melting!” says Byron McCall.

Getting started quickly is easy for customers.

“ABP EcoLine is modular, so a certain size and performance range can be covered – and the lead times from order to delivery are very short,” explains Patrick Lück.

An important feature, he says, is the plug & play concept, which allows customers to install and commission the system themselves. “Everything should be as simple as possible: Putting together the right stove via our web configurator, installation of the stove by the customer’s team of technicians, and commissioning and operation of the stove itself,” says Lück. For this purpose, there will be a manual from ABP that the customer can use as a guide.

The customer benefits from the experience of the group organization. ABP offers a homogeneous melting solution in a broad-based system.

“Following the philosophy of creating good and lasting relationships with its customers, ABP wants to start this relationship earlier, from the very beginning, so to speak,” says Patrick Lück: “A customer who has had a good experience with his first system will usually also take the next step with the same supplier. ABP EcoLine offers great potential for this.”
