The prominent exhibition is once more expected to draw a record turnout, with 2,000 participating companies from 38 countries over 35,000 m2 of gross exhibition space projected to pull in close to 20,000 regional and international visitors over the event’s four-day duration. The theme of Metaltech 2017 looks ahead to the future of manufacturing, with topics such as Industry 4.0, the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) and smart factory innovations set to feature heavily in the exhibition as well as during a substantially larger lineup of seminars.
“Metaltech in Kuala Lumpur is the most important meeting point for all players in the metalworking sector, both manufacturers and users, and now it is also becoming an innovation forum. Manufacturers of production technology from all over the world will be showing what solutions exist for generating maximized customer benefit from the digitization and networking of product operations,” said Kim Willis, CEO South East Asia, ITE Group PLC.
Metaltech 2017 is further excited to launch the first VIP Buyers Club, an exclusive invite-only club for selected trade visitors and the region’s leading professionals who directly influence the purchasing of products and services within the machine tools, metalworking and manufacturing industries in Malaysia. The club provides exclusive benefits, including the facilitation of relationship building, customized assistance and special VIP services before, during and after the exhibition.
After its resounding success last year, Metaltech 2017 will once again feature its Business Matching Programme, a unique platform that enhances the opportunities for both traders and exhibitors to foster meaningful business connections at the exhibition. The programme uses an innovative system to match international exhibitors seeking local distributors with local companies looking to sell world-class metalworking technology in Malaysia.
Once again, Metaltech will also feature its co-exhibition, the Automation Technology Exhibition (Automex), an industry leading automation and manufacturing exhibition now in its 10th year. Automex is the ultimate showcase of the latest technologies in automation and manufacturing processes, while featuring a variety of robotics, assembly and machine-vision solutions.
All in all, the exhibition will be an exciting platform for turnkey technology and solutions catering to various industries including aerospace, automotive, marine/offshore, metalworking, energy, electrical, electronics and medical, amongst others. Metaltech owes this tremendous reach in part to the support of various government agencies, including the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) as well as the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOSTI).
