Every other year, the ALUMINIUM World Trade Fair showcases new pioneering solutions for more efficiency in production and processing – from raw materials to semi-finished goods to finished products from the user industries, from machinery to production plants and accessories to surface treatments. In 2016, the trade fair will focus on lightweight construction as well as resource and cost efficiency. “Going forward, the lightweight construction megatrend ensures excellent growth opportunities for aluminium as an industrial material”, says Olaf Freier, event director of the ALUMINIUM World Trade Fair. The prerequisite will be for the industry to make the production process and the entire recycling system resource- and cost-efficient, Freier adds.
The focus on the lightweight construction trend creates perfect tie-ins with the concurrently held COMPOSITES EUROPE 2016. More than 400 exhibitors participate in the European Trade Fair for Composites to showcase technologies and trends in the glass-, carbon- and biofibre-reinforced plastics segments. “In many application areas, metal-containing composites will benefit from the race toward lightweight materials. Together with COMPOSITES EUROPE, ALUMINIUM is perfectly positioned to face newly emerging challenges”, says Freier. Featuring the materials aluminium, magnesium and fibre-reinforced plastics, Düsseldorf from 29 November to 1 December will be largest trade fair marketplace for lightweight construction challenges in the automotive sector, aerospace, mechanical engineering, the sports and leisure industry, wind power, and the construction sector. ALUMINIUM and COMPOSITES EUROPE are a successful trade fair duo bringing together a combined total of approximately 1,500 exhibitors and 35,000 experts from industry, research and development.
