Experts from all over the world, e. g. from Brazil, China, India, Japan or the USA, considered it worthwhile making the trip to attend the two-day Thermprocess Summit, where the latest technologies and processes in the heat treatment industry were presented – followed by in some cases heated discussions. René Branders, President of the European Committee of Industrial Furnace and Heating Equipment Associations (CECOF) in Brussels, e. g., drew attention in a tweet sent directly from the conference to the “outstanding debates” that were being held in Düsseldorf.
The conclusions drawn by the “Gold” and “Silver” sponsors of ITPS 2013 were positive, too. Dr. Hermann Stumpp (LOI Italimpianti, Tenova Iron and Steel): “Our industry – furnace manufacturing – is very aware of energy consumption issues, because we have been confronted with them for a long time now. The first day of ITPS made it particularly clear to us what exacting demands the industry can expect to face in future. This conference plays an important networking role in this context.”
Dr. Andreas Seitzer found the second day of the event even more dynamic than the first. The director of SMS Elotherm reports: “We were impressed by the wide range covered by the presentations – from macroeconomic questions to global marketing strategies. We think that the concept adopted by ITPS, involving eminent speakers interacting with top companies in the industry, is very effective. A follow-up event is definitely welcome”.
The director of the induction furnace manufacturer ABP Induction Systems, Dr Wolfgang Andree, was more measured in his review of the first ITPS: “I consider it to be very positive that ITPS has been initiated; now we need to analyze this first conference and make minor improvements. Then it will be a thoroughly successful event in future, too.”
The vice president for heat treatment equipment at the Seco Warwick Group, Thomas Kreuzaler, emphasizes that ITPS was a very successful event with excellent networking opportunities that was a neutral forum for observing how business is developing in the thermprocess technology field.
The organizers of ITPS 2013 were delighted about the successful premiere at the end of the second day of the conference. Messe Düsseldorf director Joachim Schäfer summarizes his entirely positive impressions as follows: “The first ITPS was just as successful as we had hoped beforehand. Participants and exhibitors used the conference as a welcome opportunity to hold in-depth exchanges of ideas and information between two THERMPROCESS trade fairs.” For the director of the VDMA thermprocess technology trade association, Dr Timo Würz, ITPS was a great success: “There is obvious demand in the industry for intensive debate about the issues that will have to be tackled in future and ITPS met this need in every respect at its premiere”. Jürgen Franke, director of Vulkan Verlag required just one word to describe his feelings about ITPS: “Fabulous!”
The ITPS conference is part of the established Bright World of Metals event, that will be inviting the industry community to come to Düsseldorf again for its trade fairs GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST from 16–20 June 2015.
